I cannot express into words how much I LOVE my Ninja. I am always finding new and amazing things it can do. This one is no exception.
I got on a snow cone fix early in the summer. I was at Wal-Mart when they put out their snow cone makers and syrups display and I was thinking, “I bet my Ninja can do that!” Oh yeah, it can!! It made quick work of the ice and, with a little sugar free syrup, we were snacking on sweet, delicious (no sugar!) refreshing treats!
That got me to thinking…. I have recipes in my Ninja cookbook for ice cream, and we really love the strawberry ice cream one. I wonder if there is a way to make vanilla ice cream (cause I could really use a root beer float about now!). And again… oh yeah, there is!!
So, in honor of my upcoming birthday, here’s a quick, easy vanilla ice cream recipe! Hope you love it as much as I do!!
1 ½ cups half and half
½ cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon vanilla butter and nut extract
2 tablespoons Splenda (or to taste)
1. Combine half and half, whipping cream, extract and splenda. Pour the liquid mixture into a 16 cube ice cube tray. Let freeze for at least 3 hours, or until completely frozen solid.
2. Place ice cream cubes in a food processor and then add ½ cup of heavy cream over top. Secure the lid and pulse until smooth & creamy.
We made strawberry sundaes out of these with a little freezer jam we had and a little whipped cream. It was so yummy!!
Disclaimer: I use my Ninja for this, but I bet any of that type of machine would work — like the Magic Bullet, etc. This is not a sponsored post.
Let me know if you make these! I’m sure you’re going to love how easy it is!!
