A few years ago, when Pottery Barn introduced their Noel wall art. I wanted one… bad. But, it was like $129. Too rich for my blood.
So, I (like a lot of people) started out to make my own version using some wooden letters that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. This is as far as I got….
I painted them, but I just couldn’t get my letters to have the impact that the Pottery Barn version had. So, I never used them. Flash forward to three years later, and I decided this year it was time to revisit this project. (I admit… I have a ton of unfinished projects living somewhere in my craft closet. It’s embarrassing.)
To give the letters more impact in the space, I decided that they needed some sort of background. I couldn’t come up with anything until I came across this remnant for about $3 at Hobby Lobby.
It was just enough to cover an 18″ x 24″ canvas that I had picked up at Ollie’s.
I used some vinyl flooring tape and a little E-6000 to attach the letters to the canvas….
… and done! I hung it over our large and ugly
eyesore… I mean, thermostat…. in the living room.
I’m pleased with how much more substantial it looks than before with just the letters!!
I hope you all have a great week!
