Hello again! I hope you all had an amazing summer! I sure did, but I’m glad to be officially back to blogging! I’m excited to share with you some of the easy DIY home projects I’ve been working on starting with the pantry area of our kitchen!
Our pantry is over in the corner of our kitchen which works out fine for the layout. The problem is that the doors to go outside are so close to it, it creates this small wall and door area in the corner that was sort of… well… ho hum and blah. Here’s the before:
So, when we decided to make some changes to our family room/kitchen area, that was definitely put on the list. I was inspired by all the organization walls that I saw on Pinterest and this painted pantry door from The House of Smiths, so off to work I went.
For the organization wall, I used the rooster chalkboard that we already had that I had purchased at Hobby Lobby for next to nothin’ on sale a few years ago. The calendar used to be hung on the pantry door, so I just moved it over to the wall. The only thing I purchased was the Fintorp rail and buckets from IKEA.
Here’s what that corner looks like now:
And a close up of the organization area:
I really like the way it turned out. It gives a little interest to the corner and gives us a place to keep all our invitations, reminders, etc. And, who doesn’t need a little more organization in their life? 🙂
