Happy New Year!
I hope you had a great holiday season!! I took a little time off to celebrate the holidays with the family, but now I’m ready to get back to work in the new year! I wanted to let you know what I’ve already started working on and what I’ll be working on for the next few months.
First and foremost, my main goal for 2016 is to declutter my entire home! I’m motivated and I need to ride this wave of energy to see this project to fruition. We don’t have a lot of clutter out in the open — just don’t look in the closets! 🙂 I’ve already started with some of the closets – beginning with the coat closet. I’m almost embarrassed at how many coats I’m giving away.
I saw a quote the other day that said, “If you need to buy more stuff to organize what you have – then you have too much stuff.” Yep. I hear ya.
So today I am embracing a new minimalist ideology for 2016 and simplify our lives. Use only what I need, and give away the rest. What is clutter in our lives can now be a blessing to someone else.
I hope you will join me in my journey!
Also, you may have noticed that I stopped posting about our guest room re-do. (You can check out some of the posts that started that project here and here.) I’ve decided that I’ve outgrown my craft room closet and want to move back into an actual room. So, I’m commandeering that guest room (since it’s used the least) and making it into my craft room. I haven’t had a craft room since I was in design school and I can’t wait to have a larger dedicated space to work on projects.
To start that process, I created a vision board so I can keep on track for the final look. I’d love to share that with you today!
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’ve already started picking paint colors — one of my favorite parts of a room re-do! It’s going to be painful painting over those stripes that took so long to create, but I think it’s time. I’m thinking something neutral that complements the other neutral walls in the house.

So, let’s get going! I’m super excited to share these new projects with you!
