For a while now, we’ve had two bedrooms that were dedicated guest rooms. Since our guests are not that plentiful, I was constantly aggravated at these rooms that never got used (wasted spaces just kill me).
So, I decided to use the extra space in one of those guest rooms to make me an organized space to put on makeup and do my hair — and here’s what I did:
All the furniture and lighting came from IKEA. A few pieces I already had, like the two wall lights and the Helmer drawers next to the vanity table. After purchasing the Helmer in the white color, I found it to be a little plain, so I covered the fronts of the drawers in coordinating scrapbooking papers. I like it so much better that way! It holds larger cosmetic palettes, extra items that I don’t use as frequently, and all my nail polishes.
On the dressing table, the clear acrylic cosmetic organizer came from Target. I use this tray to hold the items that I use daily.
I made the brush holders by combining two rectangular glass vases from IKEA for $1.99 each and some decorative metallic vase filler in silver from Wal-Mart that I found on clearance for $3 a bag. Easy peasy and so cheap!
I know the room is SUPER girly, and that was sort of the point. I love it, so I guess that’s all that matters, right?
