I don’t know who designed our upstairs guest bath, but they must have liked to take showers in the dark. Up until this past weekend, there was no way to see in there once you had the shower curtain closed! It was so dark!
The bathroom is a long, thin room with a vanity, toilet, and shower all on the same wall. Since the light fixture is over the vanity and there is a full wall around the shower, there was no way for light to get into the shower especially with an opaque shower curtain. I honestly hadn’t really noticed it, because I’ve never taken a shower up there. I’m surprised that no one has said anything before!
Over the weekend, Mark’s wonderfully generous electrician uncle and aunt came up to install some much needed lighting over the shower in return for some homemade baked ziti! I call that a deal! 🙂
Here’s the before shot:
They ended up picking up the actual can and junction boxes, and I picked up the trim kit. All in all, it ended up costing under $30.
The worst part…. he had to navigate the maze of wood and duct work that is our attic!
I am so appreciative that they came up to help! I’m loving the new light!
Now people can actually see when they are showering! The only unforeseen problem? Now I can see all the spots I missed while cleaning!! Ack!
