It’s the beginning of spring and I would love to say that I’m in full-on spring cleaning mode. But, alas, I am not.
With everyone on Spring Break this week posting all their beach pictures to Facebook, I am in full-on “can’t wait for vacation” mode!! I would love to be sitting on a beach somewhere letting the warm water of the waves run over my feet. Aaaahh! That’s saying something about how much I want to be on vacation, because, if you read my last blog post, you know that I hate the beach! I’m pretty sure I feel this way, because usually by this time of year, we’ve had so many warm days here in North Carolina that I have already soaked up my fair share of Vitamin D. But, the weather this year has been so crappy and COLD, so I am in some desperate need of sunshine and warmth!
To try and get myself into spring cleaning mode, I’m going to start with some small organization projects…. nightstand drawers, bathroom items, etc. While scouring Pinterest for some organization inspiration, I have been reminded of something that I’ve known for a long time… I LOVE OVER THE DOOR SHOE ORGANIZERS!!
They are so great for organizing smaller items and don’t take up any space, and for only around $5 at Wal-Mart, you get a lot of bang for your buck!
In my house, we use one in the kitchen pantry for small spice packets, packaged snacks, and baking items. In the office, it’s a great place to store cords — network, telephone, cable, audio, etc. I’ve got one left that I will probably use in the master bathroom to organize toiletries.
Here are some other great ideas for using over the door shoe organizers to organize anything!
Better Homes and Gardens labelled each pocket with a colored tag and stored kitchen tools and supplies.
Kelly at The Complete Guide to Imperfect Homemaking cut one in half to use inside a bathroom cabinet door. Love this!
School supplies organization at A Bowl Full Of Lemons!
Andrea at Snapping Monsters used hers to organize knitting yarns.
Brittany at The Frugal Free Gal is my idol. She uses them for everything! Baby items, paint supplies, medicine cabinet items, hardware, laundry items, ….
I hope this inspires you to get a little more organized — quickly, cheaply, and easily!
