Brrrrr… last time I checked, it was still October. When it got down to 27 over the weekend, I was confused! (even the flowers and tomatoes are still confused!)
Since it was getting so cold (however, it is going to warm up again this week… geez, make up your mind!), we decided it was time to get our outdoor area ready for the colder weather. For us, this includes closing up the pool, getting all of the outdoor furniture put away, and just a general overall cleaning. I scored in the Target clearance section with these great covers for our outdoor dining set and umbrella. Both for about $23! Woo hoo!
They ended up working really well to cover our furniture.
Putting the furniture away on the screened-in porch…

Granted, I live in North Carolina, so my version of getting ready for the winter is much different than someone in say… North Dakota. But, I still have to be prepared for some cold spells. My goal every winter is just to keep the pool pipes from bursting. It didn’t get very cold last winter, so it wasn’t an issue. I’m hopeful we’ll have another mild winter. Crossing my fingers!
