Lately, I’ve been funneling my creative juices into making some personalized jewelry for myself, and I can’t wait to share the necklace I made this week!
These picture necklaces are so easy to make with some supplies found at Hobby Lobby and look totally custom and expensive. But (best part of all), they’re really not — especially when you catch the supplies for 50% off!
Here are the supplies you will need. It will really depend on what type of necklace you want to make. We recently lost our sweet 15 year old fur baby and I wanted my necklace to be a sort of memorial to him. Make sure one of your charms will accept a bezel and purchase bezel pieces of the same size as your pendent. You can sorta see in the picture, but the bezel pendent should have a template on the package that shows the size and shape of bezel to buy.
Next, you’ll want to choose a photo, print it out on heavy paper (I used card stock) the same size as your bezel, and then cut it out.
With the picture cut out, use Mod Podge to adhere it photo side up to the back of the bezel piece.
Once that is dry, use a strong adhesive (I used E-6000) to adhere it to the pendant.
Let that dry for a few hours. Then, use a large jump ring to attach the pendants of your choice to a necklace chain. I combined the picture pendant with a large stone pendant and an initial charm. I’m not 100% sold on the large black stone, but I do like the way it turned out otherwise.
Hope you all have a great weekend!
