After rearranging the furniture in our screened-in porch, we had an empty space! The excitement was hard to contain! Creating empty spaces means… yep… room for another project! *insert husband’s sigh here*
I’ve always wanted a bar cart to serve from outdoors but hadn’t been able to find one that I liked. I was just going to settle for one from IKEA, but after looking at it in person, it seemed so flimsy and totally not worth the $90 price tag. So, I started perusing the thrift stores for another option. That’s when I came across this gem…
The only problem? It was pretty banged up and it was marked $20.20 — a little high by my thrift store standards.
So, I walked away from it. That’s when I happened to look up and see the sign that said “All used furniture 50% off today.” O.M.G. I couldn’t get that cart up to the cash register fast enough. It was perfect and only $10!
It looked like it used to be a kitchen cart that had a pull out cutting board underneath. The cutting board was missing, so there was just a hole. To fill the hole and give it some more stability, we cut and added four pieces of 1″x4″ underneath the top piece. It also would give me more space to accessorize it!
And… here’s the finished product! I love how mobile it is… I can use it beside our outdoor tables for extra serving space or roll it out by the pool for drinks and snacks.
