When they built the house next door to us… ahem, seven years ago… I
stole acquired this pallet from the construction trash. I just knew that it would be an awesome sign one day.
Fast forward to now and I was just tired of seeing it sitting in the garage nagging me to do something with it. I decided now was the time!
Our outdoor fall decorations had always been a little ho-hum and I wanted a sign to spruce it up a little bit. In classic epic fail fashion, when I tried to take this pallet apart, it practically crumbled. So.. again.. on to Plan B.
A while back, we had removed the sofa table from our family room to make more room. So, I decided to use that wood since it was already stained!
To assemble the planks, I used a few of these corner brackets that I already had laying around. They weren’t exactly what I would have bought for this project, but it’s what I had so I had to make it work! 🙂
Now that I’ve got a surface… on to paint! I just free-handed a “Welcome Fall” saying and painted a pumpkin in the corner. I am super pleased with how it turned out.
After a quick trip to Lowe’s for some mums, here’s our finished decorations on the porch!
How are you decorating your outdoor spaces for fall? I’d love to see pictures!
