Even though I’ve been mostly focused on re-doing my office space for the past month or so, I have still been working on decluttering the house one space at a time when I have some extra time.
This week, I had some time to work some more in the kitchen, so I thought I would tackle our utensil drawer. It’s mostly where we keep our extra utensils that are older or don’t match the kitchen, so they can’t be in the utensil canister on the counter. So, this actually even isn’t all the utensils we have. Yikes.
Here’s the before:
My first idea was to pick up these drawer organizers from IKEA, but I failed to measure before I left the house and these ended up being too high for the drawer.
So next, I bought this rubbermaid drawer organizer from Wal-Mart. It wasn’t ideal, but I just needed a little separation for the utensils.
Inside the organizer, I sorted out the tongs, spatulas, and brushes. Off to the left of the organizer is where I put the extra spoons.
Here is the after of the drawer:
There was also a little room behind the organizer and that’s where I’m storing our meat thermometers.
One more drawer down… so many more to go!
